New Playbook from B Dope Water

There are certain names that stick with you—not just because of what they do, but because of how they do it. For me, B DOPE is one of those names. Not just a brand, not just a product, but a movement. A presence. A light that arrived just when we needed it most.

Before Melodic Playground had listeners tuning in from all over the world, before the awards and spotlights and press kits, we were simply a creative duo with a dream and a mic. I remember those early days vividly. We had the vision. We had the energy. But what we didn’t have yet was outside validation. We didn’t need a lot—just someone to say, “We see you.”

And that’s when B DOPE entered our world.

They didn’t hesitate. They didn’t question. They just showed up—with water, gear, positivity, and purpose. Bottles of their signature purified water, T-shirts that made us feel official, and copies of the original B DOPE Playbook that read more like a personal pep talk than a product insert. It wasn’t a transaction—it felt like a blessing.

I’ll never forget it. That care package didn’t just hydrate our bodies—it fueled our momentum.

B DOPE was one of our very first sponsors on the Mind of Meladik podcast. That in itself was big. But they went further. They supported our music. They stood behind one of DJ Meladik’s albums. They helped us solidify a foundation that we continue to build on to this day. And they never asked for anything in return but truth and alignment.

That’s who they are. They live their message.

B DOPE stands for Daring, Original, Purpose, Esoteric—and those values show up in everything they touch. Their work in mental health advocacy is real. They create space for people to feel, to connect, to dream. Their campaigns encourage strangers to become friends and creatives to become leaders. They uplift those who are often overlooked.

And now, they’re giving us something even more powerful: a guidebook for indie artists written from the inside out.

Let me introduce you to Like a Boss: The DIY Strategy Book for Indie Artists. It’s the latest creation from B DOPE founder Jackie Wallace and the iconic producer and musician Tony Green. If those names ring bells, they should. Jackie has been a true force for self-empowerment and community support for years. Tony Green’s fingerprints are all over classic albums, and his wisdom runs as deep as his basslines.

Together, they’ve put together a practical, powerful, beautifully human guide to building your artistry from the ground up. Like a Boss isn’t just about brand building and marketing—though it covers those things with precision. It’s about protecting your mind, respecting your journey, and choosing purpose over popularity.

What I love most is how this book speaks directly to us—the independents, the multi-hyphenates, the creators who do it all because no one else will. It’s written in a voice that understands the grind but doesn’t glorify burnout. It honors the ambition while still making room for rest and recovery. It understands what it means to be gifted—and still need guidance.

As someone who has walked the tightrope between artist and entrepreneur, I can tell you: Like a Boss is the kind of resource I wish I had when I started. And it comes from a brand that didn’t just talk about support—they showed up with it. For me. For DJ Meladik. For Melodic Playground.

To everyone out there who’s trying to build something real—whether it’s a mixtape, a movement, or a personal breakthrough—I urge you to check out B DOPE. Hydrate your body, align your mindset, and plug into something meaningful.

And if you’re serious about taking your artistry to the next level?
Get the book. Like a Boss might just be the co-pilot your creativity has been waiting for.

I’ll always be grateful for B DOPE’s role in our journey. This isn’t just a shoutout—it’s a love letter. From one indie heart to another.

In Ya Face with Free Mace

Greetings, Melodic Playground Radio listeners and blog readers! I am Queen Meladee, your trusted curator of all things indie and underground. Today, I am thrilled to introduce you to the latest gem added to our musical family: Free Mace. This indie band, led by the incredibly talented Mason Thomas, has just released their full-length album "Better off Bitter," now available for streaming and purchase everywhere.

Free Mace stands out in the indie music scene with their raw, authentic sound and dedication to their craft. Mason Thomas, the driving force behind the band, is not only the lead vocalist and guitarist but also the mastermind behind every aspect of their new album. "Better off Bitter" was independently produced, engineered, and funded entirely from a home studio in Jacksonville, FL. Over the span of three years, Mason Thomas Staub meticulously crafted each track, pouring his heart and soul into the music.

The album "Better off Bitter" is a testament to the power of indie music. It captures the essence of what it means to be an independent artist: creating art free from commercial constraints, driven purely by passion and creativity. Each song on the album tells a story, from the hauntingly beautiful melodies to the introspective lyrics that explore themes of love, loss, and resilience. Mason's unique voice and the band's cohesive sound make this album a must-listen for any indie music enthusiast.

The indie music scene has always been a breeding ground for innovation and originality. It is a space where artists can experiment and express themselves without the pressures of mainstream expectations. Free Mace embodies this spirit, bringing a fresh and unique sound to the table. Their dedication to their music and their independent journey is something that I, Queen Meladee, deeply admire and support.

At Melodic Playground Radio, we pride ourselves on discovering and promoting new talent. As a music publicist and podcast host, I have always believed in the importance of giving a platform to emerging artists who are pushing boundaries and creating extraordinary music.
